iLearn Schools aspires to prepare students academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally for college, meaningful careers, and inspired living.
At the core of iLearn Schools’ identity is the belief that ALL children deserve access to high-performing, intellectually demanding, and emotionally supportive schools with passionate, professional, and well-prepared teachers who can help equip students with the knowledge, confidence, skills, and character needed to succeed in college and beyond.
iLearn Schools believes that facilitating growth in students as scholars and people is an ongoing process comprised of productive struggle, risk-taking, and recognition for steady and lasting improvement. By teaching character alongside content and lessons for making a positive impact in the world tomorrow, iLearn Schools helps students become innovative and active citizens with unique interests and passions. iLearn Schools aspires to not only make students capable of passing tests on paper, but rather to inspire good people who possess good intentions and who can hurdle a myriad of tests awaiting them in life. iLearn Schools’ vision is to see our students venture forth in life after school with real wisdom and individual purpose for making a positive difference in the world ahead.
iLearn Schools believes that a STEAM team can achieve more through cross-curricular projects and well-rounded understanding of concepts from multiple angles.
STEAM challenges our students to not only learn the content standards, but to also apply this new knowledge of 21st century skills and discoveries in tackling ever-evolving real world problems and challenges.
The iLearn Schools curricula is developed and aligned in accordance with these principles. Embedded within the curricula are multicultural elements, ensuring that all subject matter is made easily accessible and equally relatable for ALL students. Additionally, focus on inquiry approaches and project-based learning encourages students to develop problem-solving skills that will allow them to make positive changes throughout their communities. Design Challenge Classrooms encourage students to be the innovators of change through productive struggle. Rather than passively receiving information, students actively seek knowledge and express learning in unique ways. In fact, multiple pathways to discovery are embraced, as students see the opportunity to be creative in their thinking and problem-solving. Throughout each school year, students complete four Design Challenge projects in collaborative groups. Across all grade levels, students meet with engineers, artists, hobbyists, and professionals from STEAM fields to further expand upon their learning and awareness, collaborate, and have fun as they explore innovations. Students are furthermore given the opportunity to participate in full‐length theatrical productions, concerts, cultural dances, and festivals to celebrate diversity and increase opportunities for service learning.
The application process for the following school year starts by September of the current year. iLearn Schools does not discriminate in its admission policies or practices on the basis of intellectual or athletic ability, measures of achievement or aptitude, status as a handicapped person, proficiency in the English language or any other basis that would be illegal if used by a district board of education.
