School-Based Teacher of the Year

The School-Based Teacher of the Year award is a prestigious recognition that celebrates and acknowledges excellence in classroom education. It serves as a platform to highlight and showcase outstanding iLearn Schools educators who have made significant contributions to the field of education. These honorees are recognized for their exceptional efforts and exemplary teaching methods that have not only inspired their students but have also had a positive impact on their colleagues and the communities they serve.

Opportunities
• Serves as an ambassador for their school which will include public speaking and writing opportunities. School-based TOY should be willing to share their individual experience and perspectives as a Teacher of the Year through different marketing channels.
• Will be eligible to apply for the Phil Patire Teacher of the Year.

• School Luncheon at the end of the school year in honor of the TOY

Eligibility
• Be a licensed PreK-12 classroom teacher (or is in the process of getting certified for the current school year) and is under contract with iLearn Schools.
• Have achieved last school year's teacher evaluation rating of "Effective" or "Highly Effective" that was determined by the iLearn Schools teacher evaluation model. If the candidate had not received last year's teacher evaluation rating, the candidate will be considered for nomination based upon the current teacher evaluation rating of "Effective" or "Highly Effective."
• Have not been recognized by iLearn Schools as a "Teacher of the Year" within the last five (5) years.

Selection Criteria
• Be the educational and inspirational leader for students of all backgrounds and abilities.
• Demonstrate strong ability to foster excellence in education as evidenced by ongoing contributions to the improvement of student learning and the learning environment.
• Successfully integrate the use of technology within the academic setting.
• Demonstrate leadership in educational activities at the school, district and/or state and national level.
• Successfully achieve and maintain the respect and admiration of students, parents, and colleagues.
• Demonstrate the ability to plan and maintain a rigorous teaching schedule that exemplifies the academic standards and expectations of iLearn Schools.

There is no requirement for the minimum number of years worked at iLearn Schools as this is an award based on merit and leadership rather than service years.

The application process for the following school year starts by September of the current year. iLearn Schools does not discriminate in its admission policies or practices on the basis of intellectual or athletic ability, measures of achievement or aptitude, status as a handicapped person, proficiency in the English language or any other basis that would be illegal if used by a district board of education.

We are currently working with a curriculum mapping company to host all K-12 curricula. This project will be finalized by Fall, 2023.
