Being a teacher requires more than just a degree and experience. Being a successful teacher that influences the lives of students takes passion and dedication. As part of my teaching philosophy I believe that strong work ethic and a desire of commitment to raising student achievement are vital qualifications to being an effective educator.
Serving as a highly motivated, creative teacher who seeks to instill a passion for learning in a stimulating classroom is one of my goals as a teacher. By incorporating higher order questioning into classroom instruction, I promote critical thinking. I believe that this is an important part of teaching since it is a lasting skill students can carry with them throughout their education and careers.
My beliefs about teaching are demonstrated in my personal teaching style because I strive to enhance the learning in my classroom by establishing a positive educational climate that builds self-confidence and empowers students to take ownership of their learning. As an ELA teacher, the ability to manage a productive classroom by using effective assessment to drive instruction is key, which is why I believe in applying
developmentally appropriate learning activities to meet the needs of all learners in my classroom.
There are countless rewards to teaching because teaching does not end in the classroom. As part of my teaching philosophy I believe that every teacher should be eager to pursue professional development, to embrace opportunities to collaborate with other educators. As a teacher, it is my goal to combine my distinct teaching experiences with my commitment to academic excellence in order to make positive contributions to the students I am teaching.
We are currently working with a curriculum mapping company to host all K-12 curricula. This project will be finalized by Fall, 2023.
